Job Summary
The Vice President & General Manager- Transportation Services will provide leadership to Marsden’s transportation hub services, including airports, railway stations, rapid transit stations, bus stations, rental car centers, and other mass transportation hubs. This includes overseeing the Minneapolis / St. Paul Airport janitorial and facility operations. This individual will lead the team in executing the highest level of customer care and operational excellence. The VPGM will have full P&L ownership of all transportation services, will oversee all operational activities, human resources, talent acquisition, training and development of the team and will provide a safe and respectful work environment for all.
Key Responsibilities

- Directs and encourages operational leadership team members in continuous improvement processes.
- Builds expansion of the company footprint.
- Implement processes in alignment with strategic initiatives and provide a clear sense of direction and focus.
- Develops plans to monitor and improve Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost for the operation.
- Provides leadership for problem resolution to facilitate faster improvements and improved working relationships.
- Monitor operations and initiate corrective actions for abnormalities.
- Ensures compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversees project budgets to ensure compliance with organizational expenditure requirements.
- Acts as the enterprise subject matter expert for transportation services; develops go to market strategies, operational policies and procedures, and engages potential clients on new business opportunities.
- Remove production constraints; allocate human and equipment resources and direct employees to attain all established goals.
- Provides strategic financial input and leadership on decision making issues affecting the organization; i.e. evaluation of potential alliances, acquisitions and/or mergers.
- Uses Microsoft Office-based cost management system to audit bi-weekly budgets for all assigned accounts to include labor, supplies, and equipment.
- Plans, directs and implements strategic changes in operations strategy company-wide.
- Interviews and recommends supervisory and management staff for positions within the assigned area.
- Evaluation of branch operations structure and team plan for continuous improvement of the efficiency and effectiveness of the group as well as providing individuals with professional and personal growth and development with emphasis on opportunities (where possible) of individuals.
- Coordinates implementation and execution of operational policies and practices throughout the organization.
- Builds, develops and manages the operational leadership teams capable of carrying out needed operational strategies, profit objectives and talent management and development.

Education and Experience Required
- Hours will vary and typically occur outside of normal business hours; must have scheduling flexibility to best serve our customer and the team
- Experience working with a diverse population is required. Bilingual is preferred
- P&L Management
- Experience in a mobile leadership role with responsibility for a decentralized workforce and multiple customers
- 5+ years of experience working in the transportation industry. Airport operations experience is highly preferred
- 10+ years of leadership experience in a facility service, janitorial or similar service-based related industry

Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects and tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb, stoop, kneel or crouch; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 15 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
