C3 AI has an opening for a VP, Finance located onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, CA.

Vice President, Finance leads the Finance and Planning organization spanning "street" forecasting, budgeting, operating plan management, headcount management, board material management, executive briefing, and various ad hoc projects for the finance organization. This senior leadership role will set the direction for the finance organization and will be a highly visible presence in executive and board-level decision-making. The VP, Finance reports to the Chief Financial Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for building, maintaining, and communicating the Street Model to internal and external constituents.
  • Responsible for maintaining the financial planning cadence on a rolling 8 quarter basis.
  • Responsible for building, maintaining, and refining the company's Operating Plan, including updating it on a weekly basis for actual results.
  • Ensure an effective and robust finance and planning infrastructure: manage the Corporate FP&A team and build a team of Finance Business Partners that support the business functions.
  • Build detailed financial modeling processes that are consistent across Company.
  • Work closely with the internal and external investor relations team.
  • Ensure timely and accurate budget vs actual analysis and future projections.
  • Provide strategic guidance around capital financing options to support company growth needs.
  • Analyze the company's financial results - profits, trends, costs, and compliance with budgets. Issue regular status and ad hoc reports to senior management.
  • Coordinate and prepare quarterly board package for review and analysis by the Board of Directors.
  • Responsible for creating KPI and dashboard framework such that all KPIs have definitions and are integrated into the Company's financial model.
  • Develop integrated and scalable financial systems that provide highly predictable and understandable financial results.
  • Ensure non-GAAP financial metrics are properly defined, measured, and reported on a consistent basis.
  • Work with leaders of business groups to ensure forecasts and financial targets will be achieved and monitored on a monthly basis.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each of the responsibilities described above. The candidate must have the capacity to take on additional responsibilities as the Company grows. The requirements listed below are representative of the attributes required.

  • Experience with Software/SaaS company with revenues in excess of $400M.
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Demonstrates strong personal integrity, C3 AI values and ethics.
  • Track record of driving positive results in a very hands-on environment
  • 5+ years' experience leading the finance function in a public company.
  • Demonstrated success in consistently producing timely and highly predictable financial models.
  • Expert using excel.
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Superb time management, decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • 15+ years of related experience, with increasing levels of responsibility and seniority with most of this experience in the technology industry
  • Meticulous attention to detail (perfectionist) and natural analytical thinking.
