Ux Web Designer/Front End Developer

Our client, a growing digital agency, is looking for an UX Web Designer/Front End Developer to join their team! Our client is looking for an UX Web Designer/Front End Developer knowledgeable in desktop and mobile website design, with a firm grasp on usability and accessibility to design/theme/brand wireframe templates, work with our team to create and grow theme libraries, and guide content administrators with polishing their content.

Responsibilities:

• Familiarity with website accessibility standards and guidelines
• Creates large scale system workflows.
• Facilitates usability sessions independently.
• Conducts UX research interviews, prototype reviews, and surveys with assistance.
• Communicates large and complicated concepts to UX and other teammates easily.
• Strong commitment to learning.
• Applies the basics of visual design principles in their design work such as visual hierarchy, proximity, similarity, font selection and color theory.
• Builds prototypes using HTML / CSS / JavaScript and has a strong understanding of semantic html and page hierarchy concepts.
• Demonstrates an understanding of visual, layout and content accessibility guidelines in their design work.
• Assist Non-Web Creative team during down periods
• Works well with other team disciplines and is able to encourage teams to adopt UX design solutions, but also can adapt designs to time and feasibility constraints.
• Has completed at least one significant design which has been successfully released to users.
• Leading the ideation and discovery process for digital products using sketches, workshops, user journey maps, and/or wireframes.
• An ability to communicate effectively with people that have varying levels of experience with IT or web application development.
• Maps out user flows and information architecture, developing easily digestible solutions.
• Creates new content organization schemes and structures and implements them effectively.
• Support content administrators with finding, creating, and tuning stock photos, and other imagery for websites; provide guidance to making things look nice
• Enjoys independently exploring new topics, problems, prospects and opportunities that present themselves as relevant.
• Work with Product/Development to template new features and create new themes
• Review / verify websites created from design templates

Qualifications:

• 5+ years experience in UX Web Design work for a company
• Understanding and ability to work with JavaScript
• Competent in CSS and/or SCSS
• Experience with managing content within WordPress
• Ability to use analytics packages to analyze user behavior to improve designs to increase user engagement
