Pay
This position is an hourly position at pay grade 107.
Attendance
Non-rotating 40-hour work week, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm; must be available to work additional hours as needed.

Overview
The Utility Line Locator is responsible for the timely response to line locate request issued from the One Call Center and assigned through the KorWeb Ticket Management System.
Responsibilities
- Identify areas of high excavation activity, maintain markings, inspect for unreported damages or threats to City facility
- May be asked to perform other duties as assigned
- Locate and mark underground City pipelines with the use of dual frequency radio detection
- Meet with contractors, City Work crews, builders, developers and the general public, as necessary to discuss the location of City’s pipelines
- Obtain dimensions from plats to determine pipeline locations
- Document and record essential information related to locating the City’s pipelines
- Occasionally dig to locate valve boxes or lead wires covered by dirt and debris to locate the pipeline
Qualifications
- A valid driver's license is required; successful out-of-state candidates must be able to obtain a valid Texas driver's license within 90 days of hire
- Requires a High School Diploma/GED
- Requires two (2) years of experience

Basis of Rating
Application review and the City may also conduct additional skill assessment tests, in addition to the panel interview.

- Any position that lists a minimum qualification for education level and/or license/certification will require the applicant to provide proof of documentation if selected for hire into the position with the City of Corpus Christi.
