What we're Building
It’s time to take robotic kitchens to the next level! At REMY Robotics, we’re building a new cooking framework, combining adaptive robotics to culinary engineering.
Our robotics kitchens use software-defined and adaptive robots, computer vision, artificial intelligence and mechatronics that can ensure constant quality, adaptability to any recipe, and operational effectiveness across an endless variety of food production scenarios.
Our solution is commercially proven: we operate our own B2C food brands across delivery platforms and serve customers daily and are now starting to partner with different actors of the food industry as a technology provider.
Our ambition is to power commercial kitchens of multiple partners in the food service industry.

Unlike traditional software products, our robots exist in the physical world: this means the scope of our products and projects are wide-ranging, from the highly technical to the physical, such as identifying and implementing appropriate food packaging solutions for our customer-facing hot food products.

About the role
At REMY, we have created a whole new cooking framework that allows robots to interact with food thermal images, weight, density, temperatures, and a host of other factors. Our cooking method ties the food to the code so that the robots can execute anc cook properly. For this reason, our method of cooking is very data driven.
This position will be responsible for the quality control of our food products in the robotic kitchen. Working directly with the culinary engineering team as well as the food production team, you are in charge of all the data collection to ensure the perfect food is cooked to our specifications.
The role will be based in New York with the data collection done by Bedstuy and database management done remotely, if you can manage your time. As the quality control technician, the whole team will be relying on your results therefore we expect you to self-organise and work asynchronously with a keen sense of detail.
As such your role will include:
- Food testing and quality testing,
- Maintaining a database of production schedules, recipes, and batches,
- Communicating with our Culinary Engineering team in Barcelona.

- Manual uploading and transfer of food quality data to the central team in Barcelona,
What success means in this role
- You take initiative and make well informed, data driven decisions that help improve the quality of the food we deliver to our clients.
- You successfully work asynchronously and independently as part of a larger team. This is actually tricky, the work is both dependent and independent. Your work will form the backbone of a lot of others' work, and vice versa.
- Everything you do is documented and organised,
What will make you a great candidate
- You have excellent computer skills and have working knowledge of spreadsheet software (excel, google docs)
- You are extremely detail oriented, both in the physical and software realms.
- You are a project manager at heart: you know how to work with project management systems in complex and distributed environments,
- You have a background in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, or related science. Previous Quality Control experience in an analytical lab or sensory lab is a plus.
- You have the ability to work around food and understand food safety rules and regulations. Food Handlers certification is a plus.
- You have passionate by food and have basic knowledge in food quality,
- Cleanliness is second nature to you (this is a Quality job!)
