Job Description
Overview
The Social Media Coordinator of TikTok plays an integral role as part of the Urban Outfitters Social Team, overseeing the strategy, production, creation, and sourcing of content for Urban Outfitters’ TikTok account. This role is responsible for producing on-trend and authentic content that supports brand initiatives, strategizing best practices, tracking channel growth, and being hyper-aware of the most up-to-date trends on the platform. The Social Media Coordinator of TikTok must have a passion for community building and a knack for storytelling. Above all, they must possess expert knowledge of TikTok, and an understanding of the ever-changing nature of this exciting Social platform.
Responsibilities
QUALIFICATIONS
CONTENT CREATION & SOURCING
× Create engaging original content for TikTok by reacting to current trends and thinking outside the box to create memorable, shareable moments
× Film and edit social-first videos of all types, including compilations, recaps, and on-the-fly content
× Maintain a system to track and source user-generated content to share on UO’s social platforms
STRATEGY & TRACKING
× Strategize best practices to encourage the growth and evolution the platform alongside the rest of the Social Team, with a focus on engagement, follower growth, consideration, and overall reach
× Track all channel growth through weekly and monthly reporting, and report as needed, using learnings to identify opportunities for improvement
× Align with broader marketing messages as well as reactionary messages to reinforce brand initiatives
COMMUNICATION & COLLABORATION
× Work with cross-functional teams as needed for shoots and influencer-based campaigns
× Partner with Paid Social and Affiliate teams to boost organic content from UO’s TikTok
× Identify platform campaigns, trends, and other brand-appropriate opportunities
× Engage with followers through comments and video responses to encourage community building
× 1-2 years of video or social media experience preferred
× An obsession with and deep understanding of TikTok, Internet culture, and language, and an interest in keeping up to date with developments in web platforms and applications
× Enthusiasm for the Urban Outfitters brand and customer mindset
× Strong writing and communication skills
× Ability to translate current and emerging trends on the platform into the UO voice
× Photoshop skills, Adobe Premiere and Adobe Illustrator skills are a plus
× Ability to work independently and under close direction while managing several deadlines
