Job Description
Overview:
The University Teaching & Research Assistant may direct the work of less experienced Staff Assistants, including planning, assigning, and scheduling work. Support with teaching, research, and office related activities. Research duties include: searching, annotation, data collection and entry, IRB protocols, and literature reviews. Office duties will facilitate communications, meetings, documentations, outreach, and other related duties as assigned by supervisor. This is a temporary position, lasting only a few weeks, for the month of May or June, with variable hours per week. This position is telework eligible within the state of Utah.
Responsibilities:
  • Advises and directs other support staff; assigns workload and reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
  • Performs office duties, including answering phones, directing calls to appropriate parties, data entry, filing, appointment scheduling, and other general duties as assigned.
  • Updates website content.
  • Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
  • Prepares reports and summaries.
  • Provides administrative support to department management, including scheduling appointments and coordinating meetings and conferences.
  • Communicates departmental/division policies, procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Assists with various projects and assignments as needed.
  • Researches information, compiles statistics, and gathers, computes, and analyzes various data and sources.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma/GED or aptitude is required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Skilled with computers and related software.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Skilled with basic office equipment, including printers, copiers, and telephone systems.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential business data and personal information.

Advertised Salary: Range of hourly rate of $17.00 to $27.00 based on qualification ADA:
Employees work indoors and are protected from weather and/or contaminants, but not, necessarily, occasional temperature changes. The employee is regularly required to sit and often uses repetitive hand motions.
