The primary purpose of this position is to serve as the primary point of contact to the squadron commander/director for all administrative support programs. Responsibilities


  • Knowledge of structure, programs and work methods of organization for personnel/manning issues.
  • Knowledge of the organizational and functional responsibilities and operations of an organization.
  • Assists in planning, administering, and monitoring manpower resource requirements.
  • Serves as the organizational point of contact and liaison with the personnel flight on military and civilian personnel issues.
  • Skill in fact-finding, problem analysis, problem resolutions, and development of concrete action plans to solve problems.
  • Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations and produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs.
  • Ability to plan and organize management programs and functions of an organization. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.   • Serves as the resident subject matter expert for all mandated administrative support programs.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and present facts, communicate effectively, using tact and courtesy and posses the ability to plan, organize work, and meet deadlines.
  • Directly assists the commander/director in the management of all administrative support program functions.
  • Performs other clerical and administrative work in support of the office/organization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-06, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes that I have, or will have within 120 days of closing of this announcement, 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience includes assisting supervisors, managers, and staff in order to plan and organize management programs and functions of the organization; ability to use various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to support office operations to produce a variety of documents; ability to employ administrative, clerical, and procedural requirements to analyze manpower products, to perform non-routine assignments, such as independently noting and following-up on commitments made at meetings and conferences; skill to brief others on preparing correspondence, requirements for various reports, and interpret new instructions and procedures; collect, organize, and compile personnel data in order to recommend actions to supervisors and managers NOTE: Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement. FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-­grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-06 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-07 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks.
