Position Specific Description
Unmanned Aircraft Systems(UAS) Flight Operations Lead will be tasked in managing all of FPLAir’s Drone fleet. This position will create and teach the FPLAir UAS certificate classes when new employees want to fly a drone within the company. This position will be tasked with maintaining all drone flight logs and also conducting all scheduled or unscheduled maintenance on FPLAir’s fleet. This position will act as the lead pilot for the company and conduct all proof-of-concept flights dealing with LIDAR, Multispectral Cameras and other new technology that the company wants to look into. This position will also communicate relevant project updates information and routines status updates to stakeholders and team members.
Education and Experience
  • Experience creating a maintenance and training program for UAS
  • Have worked with FAA regulators on SOPs, CONOPs, aircraft certification, experimental airworthiness process
  • BVLOS Operations in controlled and uncontrolled airspace
  • Commercial Pilot Certificate
  • Six years of experience in aviation or UAS operations
  • Experience teaching UAS classes
  • Driver’s License
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge in the operation of networks and communications systems; both hardware and software
  • Prior experience with small and large UAS, including quadcopter and fixed wing
  • Experience in Wyvern Safety training programs
Job Overview
Employees in this role lead and provide technical direction on business unit projects and/or project participants. Individuals plan, coordinate, and manage complex or long term projects to ensure completion of design and construction within budgetary and scheduling guidelines. Employees are proficient in all aspects of distribution design, and fully knowledgeable in the interpretation and administration of company policies and procedures pertaining to distribution design.

  • Maintains thorough knowledge of new developments and/or technology pertaining to the project(s)

  • Monitors and recommends changes for improvement and cost savings
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 7+ years
  • High School Grad / GED
  • Bachelor’s or Equivalent Experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
  • Project Management Professional (PMP)
  • Master’s - Engineering
