Job Description

Job Summary:


We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Superintendent to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) systems on our construction projects. The primary goal of the MEP Superintendent is to ensure the successful installation of MEP systems in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards.


Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage a team of MEP foremen, technicians, and subcontractors to ensure the timely and accurate installation of MEP systems.
  2. Coordinate closely with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop effective MEP project plans and schedules.
  3. Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement appropriate solutions to keep the project on track.
  4. Conduct regular site inspections to ensure MEP systems meet design, quality, and safety requirements.
  5. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment required for MEP installations.
  6. Ensure compliance with applicable codes, regulations, and industry standards in all MEP installations.
  7. Conduct regular meetings with the project team to provide updates on MEP status, resolve issues, and ensure effective communication.
  8. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation related to the MEP systems, including drawings, specifications, and change orders.
  9. Collaborate with subcontractors and trades to resolve any conflicts or coordination issues related to the MEP systems.
  10. Monitor and manage MEP project budgets, including tracking costs, approving invoices, and controlling expenses.


Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as an MEP Superintendent on large industrial projects (warehouse, manufacturing facilities, chemical plants etc...) in the construction industry.
  2. Deep knowledge and understanding of MEP systems, codes, regulations, and industry best practices.
  3. Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a diverse team.
  4. Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities, particularly in complex construction projects.
  5. Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  6. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  7. Proficiency in using MS Office software and project management tools.
  8. Relevant certifications or licenses in MEP systems and/or construction management will be an advantage.
  9. Qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Construction Engineering is preferred.
  10. Must be open to travel.
