Job Description
SUMMARY: Responsible for implementation and management of all transportation and logistics activities among assigned commodities in support of IFP trading activities.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Obtain and maintain competitive transportation rates and services to support IFP traders.
  • Have a scheduled presence with all logistics providers in order to supervise vendor execution and develop new opportunities
  • Build a network of relationships with suppliers, vendors and end users
  • Maintain commodity specific rate matrices and service contracts of transportation providers
  • Have a presence at industry events nationwide to stay up to date on market knowledge, identify and build upon new opportunities
  • Lead and/or cooperate with sales admin personnel to resolve any operational issues throughout the supply chain
  • Establish and maintain freight costs for IFPs commodity based supply chains
  • Conduct cost reconciliations on freight related invoices
  • Special projects and assignments as business dictates.
  • Lead a weekly booking activity report meeting in order to ensure proper execution of the supply chain and to forecast needs based on sales projections
  • Communicate rate changes, new rates/services to relevant stakeholders

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong Problem Solving, Negotiating Skills
  • Comfortable interacting with people in a variety of professional and social settings
  • Ability to multi-task and respond to customer inquiries in a direct, professional manner
  • Experience in freight procurement
  • Data management and organizational skills
  • Experience in Supply Chain Operations (freight forwarding, warehousing, trucking, maritime transportation, etc.)
  • Experience with International Trade
  • Bachelors degree
  • Adept at Excel/Tableau/EDI/API applications
