PeaceHealth is seeking a Transcription Quality Reviewer - Health Information for a Full Time, 1.00 FTE, Day position. The general salary range for this job opening at PeaceHealth is $20.14 – $30.21. The actual hiring rate is dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to, the job/position responsibilities, location, terms of the applicable collective bargaining agreement, education, training, work experience, seniority, work performance, etc.


This position is remote. Incumbent must reside in OR, WA, AK or TX by date of hire.


Job Summary


Ensures timely, accurate and complete transcribed documents in the patient record. Maintains the integrity of the Electronic Health Record Community Master Patient Index in all PeaceHealth electronic health systems according to established procedures and guidelines. Validates SER (Schedulable EPIC Resource) provider records ensuring the correct set up for distribution of patient records.


Essential Functions


  • Corrects errors in reports when notified, if original has not been signed in CareConnect.
  • Reviews, researches and resolves potential duplicates and linkages present in all PeaceHealth EHRs system wide.
  • Monitors and works Right Fax failed fax queue.
  • Transcribes/edits provider dictations when necessary.
  • Monitors and works the dictation/transcription system pending queue on a daily basis to guarantee stated turnaround of all reports.
  • Reviews, researches and resolves duplicate MRNs electronically in associated systems (Inspector, Centricity, CareConnect, ImageCast, McKession Patient Folder, and other downstream systems) according to established procedures and guidelines.
  • Monitors Imaging dictation system for back-ended reports; completes as needed.
  • Communicates results of QA checks to supervisor for use in management of MTSOs.
  • Makes phone calls to validate provider demographics for SER file entries. Sends validated entries are sent to the Security Team for update.
  • Responds to requests regarding discrepancies or problems with issuance of MRNs, performs research and maintenance as necessary and does follow-up as appropriate.
  • Utilizes multiple on-line and CareConnect resources to complete validation of new and existing providers and facilities in CareConnect SER file.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Notifies HIM Integrity Team Lead of errors and potential problems and provides appropriate follow-up.


Qualifications


EDUCATION:


  • Associate degree in Medical Transcription from an accredited institution or combination of education and experience that provides the caregiver with the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job required.


EXPERIENCE/TRAINING:


  • Minimum of three years transcription experience in an acute care transcription environment with demonstrated competency in transcribing all acute care work types.


LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:


  • Certified Medical Transcription (CMT) preferred.


OTHER SKILLS:


  • Excellent eye, hand and auditory coordination
  • Excellent listening skills
  • Basic computer skills including knowledge of MS Office applications
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical medicine, surgery, diagnostic tests, radiology, pathology, pharmacology and various medical specialties as required in areas of responsibility
  • Ability to operate designated word processing, dictation and transcription equipment as specified
  • Knowledge of medical transcription guidelines and practices
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including English usage, grammar, punctuation, and style
  • Ability to understand diverse accents and dialects and varying dictation styles
  • Ability to document standard work process and training materials preferred.
  • Ability to use designated resource materials


Preferred


  • Working knowledge of Centricity Enterprise and Epic/CareConnect preferred.
  • Familiar with system merge process preferred


Physical/Cognitive Requirements


  • Work requires fairly light physical exertion from up to 65% of the time.
  • Job duties frequently require intense concentration and attention to detail (up to 65% of work time).
  • Ability to lift objects weighing 30 lbs. or less.
  • Work is performed under normal working conditions with adequate lighting and ventilation.
