JOB SUMMARY

This position is responsible for managing all training and development needs within a single manufacturing operation while being an employee advocate who models our values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety. This position is actively engaged with employees and leadership in all areas of the mill and manufacturing environment.

The Grayling Particleboard mill is a 24/7 manufacturing operation. The Training Coordinator is a M-F Day shift role; however, this position must have ability to support occasional off-shift employee and business needs.

DIRECT REPORTS / SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does not have direct reports or supervisory responsibilities.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manages the Manufacturing Employee Work System by leading the employee certification process for all areas of the mill to ensure that employees are fully trained according to the work system specifications

• Coordinates, monitors, and documents all regulatory training to assure ongoing compliance

• Maintains all employee training records in the company’s electronic learning management system (SAP) and addresses any delinquent training to ensure completion

• Works with area specific leaders to identify and coordinate training needed and identifies external training vendors who can meet the needs of the organization

• Coordinates event logistics and schedule management for all employee orientation and other training events

• Occasional travel within the US and Canada may be required (less than 5%)

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• High school diploma or equivalent; some college coursework preferred

• Minimum of 2+ years of manufacturing experience required with a solid understanding of hourly manufacturing roles

• At least six months of experience leading projects that require a strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Outlook, and Word

• Prior experience working in an electronic learning management system is highly beneficial

• Must possess strong initiative and daily presence/engagement on the manufacturing floor

• Equal comfort being actively engaged on the manufacturing floor as managing administrative responsibilities in an office environment as this role is 50% operational and 50% administrative

• An ability to lead, coach, and achieve results through others is required

• Must place safety as the first priority and demonstrate safe working behaviors at all times

Requires a strong sense of accuracy and attention to details while managing multiple tasks simultaneously

• Must be comfortable moving throughout large manufacturing environment with multiple buildings
