Tower Technician I Jobs

Position Summary: The Tower Technician I has a enthusiasm to learn and willing to perform all aspects of tower top and civil installations, with attention to all jobs being completed with high quality, safety and efficiency. This position will engage in the installation, inspection, or maintenance of tower, rooftop and other cell site apparatuses, as required by various client requests. The positions mission is accomplished through the performance of some or all of the following functions or tasks:

Essential Functions:

• Follow daily preparation and planning, by foreman, to enable efficient travel to project location and performance of duties at project location.
• Installation, replacement, and troubleshooting of wireless equipment based on direction from Foreman and Construction Manager.
• Manage assets/equipment such as vehicle, phone, computer, camera, harness, and safety equipment.
• Utilize email and telephone as preferred means of corporate communication.
• Manage, inspect and maintain personal protective equipment, including climbing harness, protective headgear, climbing devices, and necessary safety equipment, and complete daily log.
• Perform all tasks in a safe manner, ensuring safety of self and crew by adhering to work practices outlined in the Health & Safety Manual.
• Lead by example, demonstrating an attitude of safety, cost control, asset management, and professionalism to all in direct supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

• Able to successfully complete the pre-employment process (Background Check, Drug Test and clean MVR driving record).
• Able to pass Authorized Tower Climber/Rescuer COMTRAIN certificate (or equivalent)
• Willingness to travel 100% of time.
• Availability to work irregular hours and/or respond to emergency call-outs on a 24-hour basis.
• Must be able to lift and carry 75 pounds in a regular basis without assistance.
• 0 -12 years of current experience in conducting similar type communications tower work (with no restrictions to obtain authorized climber certification) OR
• Ability to climb Cell Site structure 500’
• OSHA 10/30 certification.Must b able to communicate fluently in English.
• Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. Employee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. Employee must be able to climb cell site structures 500’.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction project location. The noise level in the work environment and project location can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions.
