Job Description
Position Summary
The On-Site Tour Guide provides a fun, educational, and memorable experience to visitors, relaying the story, beers, brewery and partnerships of La Tropical in a safe and professional manner.
Essential Duties & Functions
  • Ensure we are abiding by all Safety measures put in place by Facilities/Operations/Safety Manager.
  • Familiarization with the La Tropical story, beers, brewery and partnerships will be required.
  • Describe tour groups points of interest to group members and respond to questions from group.
  • Greet and socialize with patrons when not conducting tours.
  • Clean up and set up of tour locations. Stocking and Restocking.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure clear communication of all safety rules and regulations to any tour attendees.
  • Greet and manage aspects of on-site brewery tours which includes all bus groups, and both private and daily tours.
  • Lead walking tour groups through designated tour area, relaying historical, educational, and interesting brewery and beer industry facts.
Requirements
DESIRED CAPABILITIES/CHARACTERISTICS
  • Enjoys working in a team and collaborative environment.
  • Prior experience as a Tour Guide is desired.
  • Able to demonstrate integrity, mature judgment in handling all matters.
  • Passion for La Tropical and the craft beer business.
  • Ability to problem solve and work independently in a changing and multi-tasking environment with numerous deadlines.
  • Willing to work flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, holidays and overtime.
  • Experience and proficiency in public speaking.
  • Excellent organizational, planning and project management skills.
  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude and strong verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and work well with on-site event producers.
  • Outgoing/High energy, enjoys high level of public interaction.
  • Knowledge of craft beer and the brewing process is desired.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS
  • Works with Sales/Marketing team to execute retailer and distributor visits to maximize experience.
  • Reports directly to the Sr. Marketing Manager.
Physical Requirements
  • Requires moderate physical efforts: carrying, bending, stretching, stooping, pulling and pushing.
  • Able to stand, walk for long periods of time.
  • Work environment is primarily indoors within a restaurant and production environment and may involve noise and temperature changes.
  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard and calculator.
