Tool Maker

Mission Statement: To design, build and continuously improve custom tools, fixtures and prototypes for Machining, Assembly and Engineering areas in the OPW Retail Fueling manufacturing space.

Responsibilities:

• Recommends new methods, tools, and equipment for Tool Room and manufacturing cells
• Other activities as required
• Develops programs for CNC machines using Mastercam software, G-code, and Conversational programming as needed to support tool making, prototypes and production parts
• Safely operates manual and CNC machining tools, metal saws, drills, and grinding equipment to build and repair tools, dies, fixtures and testing equipment
• Work from 2D and 3D models to produce parts and/or mating fixtures
• Develop new test and assembly fixtures for manufacturing and new product development incorporating controls and safety devices such as cylinders and palm buttons
• Collaborates with engineering, production, and outside suppliers to solve problems

Requirements:

• Extensive experience with Manual and CNC Machining
• Must be able to stand, bend, push, pull, twist, kneel, climb and work in temperature extremes
• Must be able to wear all required PPE
• Extensive experience with Mastercam or similar high-level CAD/CAM package
• Must be willing and able to work overtime, including weekends, to meet business needs
• CNC Machining Certificate
• Must be able to read, speak, write and comprehend the English language
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
• Must be willing and able to comply with plant safety policies and Dover Code of Conduct
