Description:

The Territory Manager – Maine & New Hampshire is based in the state of Maine and is responsible for fostering good relations with accounts, new business development and inspiring our wholesalers to responsibly sell our beer. Territory covers ME and NH and other regions as assigned. Will be expected to meet annual volume targets.


Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative tasks and additional duties as assigned
  • Don’t break the law
  • Analyze sales data and prioritize business opportunities
  • Protect the brand
  • Build, maintain and strengthen relationships with wholesaler and account personnel
  • Assist at all special events and festivals as assigned
  • Educate external partners on the history of the brand, quality standards and our do good through great beer philosophy
  • Generate a sales strategy for assigned territory that aligns with the company’s goals
  • Do what’s right.
  • Maintain a professional image and demeanor at all times
  • Work with wholesaler sales staff daily and be their key point of contact for Maine Beer Company
  • Communicate effectively and frequently
  • Plan, execute and evaluate events that comply with the company’s non-profit standards
  • Manage wholesaler inventory and properly address any concerns
  • Develop meaningful new business in a responsible way
Requirements:
  • A minimum of two years’ experience in the craft beer industry, either working in a sales capacity for a distributor or directly for a brewery
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record a must
  • Must be 21 or over to apply
  • Self-starter, ability to work autonomously and complete tasks with limited direct supervision
  • Honesty, professionalism, and comfort speaking one-on-one and in public forums
  • Deep knowledge of the three-tier distribution system
  • Proficient with Mac OS & Microsoft Office
  • Must be able to maintain business-like behavior during and after the consumption of alcohol
  • Extensive travel required within territory that will involve frequent overnights, weekends and occasional travel outside territory as needed.
  • Excellent organizational, planning, project management, and sales skills
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to operate a vehicle
  • Must be able to lift 24lb cases and 60lb kegs
  • Certified Cicerone and/or Certified Beer Server a plus.
