About Us

Job Summary


This position is responsible for teaching students in the Flight major degree/certificate programs to meet the requirements necessary to obtain FAA Private, Instrument, Commercial, and Flight Instructor Certificates.

Responsibilities

  • Provides flight instruction for all FAA ratings.
  • Schedules students according to availability of aircraft and student class schedules.
  • Manages student records, endorsements and TSA documents for the flight school.
  • Manages student workload of 3-8 students in pursuit of FAA Pilot certificates.

Required Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Cabri G2 time with SFAR preferred.
  • CFI and CFII – Helicopters.
  • Current 2nd class medical.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Knowledge of Federal Aviation regulations and related operational procedures
  • Ability to work well under pressure and think critically during flight training situations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills

Other Information

  • Occasionally lift light and heavy objects not more than 50lbs.
  • Intermittent sitting, standing, bending, crouching and climbing on ladders.
  • Work environment is typically in the aircraft with some administrative office work.
  • A degree of dexterity is required for preflight operations and other requirements to hold an FAA 2nd class medical.


Other Information

  • Hourly rate: $16/hr
  • This is a non-exempt position (hourly paid).
