Technician Maintenance I Jobs

This is an entry level Mechanical Maintenance position. Performs various tasks associated with the inspection, root cause failure analysis and repairs of mechanical systems. This includes preventative maintenance and troubleshooting of terminal equipment.

• Performs tasks associated with maintaining mechanical systems throughout the terminal.
• Work with contractor personnel and ensure quality control as well as productivity.
• Follows all safety procedures, checks for safety hazards, and takes corrective action to eliminate safety hazards.
• Participates in formal and on-the job training programs to acquire/broaden both technical and non-technical job skills; participates in cross training activities.
• Focuses and maintains a clean and orderly work area and participates in plant housekeeping activities.
• Supports other terminal functions as assigned.
• Works rotating shift schedule and weekends as assigned.
• Participates in team meetings.
• Adheres to Company environmental policies.
• Assists with preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment. Services and lubricates terminal equipment as required.
• Interacts with members of terminal on a regular basis to gather or communicate information, solve problems, etc
• Adheres to all company policies.
• Must be able to perform all duties at the terminal such as truck loading, vessel unloading, and transfer of cement.
• Applies skills and performs work in other positions as assigned.
• Demonstrates a commitment to communicating, improving and adhering to safety policies in all work environments and areas.
• Suggests programs that reduce/contain costs and/or increase productivity. Takes independent action to resolve problems when appropriate.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Required Education: High School diploma/GED

Additional Education Preferred: Associates/Technical Degree

Two years technical college in a related subject is preferred.

Required Work Experience: 2-4 years industrial experience as a millwright is required. Experience with rebuilding gear boxes, shaft alignment on heavy industrial equipment, bearing installation is desired.

Additional Requirements: Knowledge of overall terminal operations, or comparable heavy industrial environment, is preferred. Must possess a valid driver’s license
