Job Description
The Wausau Division is an industry leader in the production of corrugated shipping containers and sheets.


We are currently seeking a safety conscious and dependable Maintenance Technician for our Wausau location. This is a 2nd shift position that would work in all areas of our facility.


The Maintenance Technician will report to the Maintenance Supervisor and shift supervisor and will assist with the overall maintenance and reliability improvement efforts for the plant. This position is responsible for performing preventative maintenance to ensure all machines are functioning safely and efficiently. The Maintenance Technician also responds to machine and/or system failures and must be able to troubleshoot when necessary.


  • Ability to read an electrical diagram to troubleshoot machines
  • Welding experience
  • Steam system maintenance
  • Working knowledge of Valco glue units
  • Install, overhaul, and rebuild machines or other property
  • Machine troubleshooting using electrical testers, blue prints and schematics
  • Replace and/or tune blades on cutoff knife
  • Maintain clean and organized maintenance shop
  • Ability to read an I/0 diagram for a PLC or SLC
  • Completed classwork for pneumatics, hydraulics, and basic electrical with passing grades
  • Machine and equipment repairs
  • Order parts and expedite delivery - understand purchase order completion and related paperwork
  • Machine troubleshooting experience
  • Self-directed completion of outstanding maintenance requisitions
  • Ability to work safely and comply with all safety rules and policies
  • Machinery and equipment installation experience
  • General welding and torch use
  • Follows product safety and quality management policies, procedures, and expectations
  • Building and property repairs
  • Perform roll changes (anilox, rubber, corrugating, glue, etc.)
  • Review department performance annually with Maintenance Supervisor

Responsible for all activities associated with safely operating and caring for the forklift.


Essential Functions


  • Adheres to daily production schedule. Makes recommendations for optimizing the schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery and service goals.
  • Maximize the utilization of equipment by operating the machinery at available capacity and speed.
  • Cross train for other job positions as necessary.
  • Assist other forklift operators as necessary and may be requested to backup Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Proactively remove finished goods from take-off line.
  • Proactively locate and delivery stock to appropriate machines safely and on time.
  • Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.
  • Complete necessary reports in an accurate and timely manner, including but not limited to Delivery Receipts, Forklift Inspection Reports, Bill of Ladings, etc.
  • Operation and care of forklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified and licensed to properly operate the forklift.
  • Complete necessary paperwork in an accurate and timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and when operating a new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including practicing safe work habits, maintaining organization, safe food defense and good manufacturing practices.
  • Maintain accurate location of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.

  • Possess the ability to motivate and maintain effective working relationships with staff and partners.
  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry is a plus, but not required.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to successfully work to reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required of this position.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • 1-2 years' experience as a Forklift driver in an industrial environment
  • Required to maintain a safe driving record and a current forklift certification.
  • High school diploma or GED.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
