This position is responsible for the coordination, installation, and maintenance activities for the Continuous Count and Vehicle Classification Sites (CCS). Aide in the development of a CCS work plan for current and future year. Management of traffic recorders/equipment storage and repair facility including but not limited to, sustaining supply inventory, inventory tracking, maintenance and minor repairs of count equipment, and the assignment of tasks to various personnel. Manage Maine DOT's town count equipment lending program, including providing the necessary training to town personnel on traffic count equipment. Assist with the processing and verification of Short Duration Counts. Assist in the Department's annual traffic model process to flow AADTs on all roads in the state. Aide in the setting, checking and completion of Turning Movement studies. Work is performed under limited supervision.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
Five (5) years of experience in engineering –OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and three (3) years of experience in engineering -OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and one (1) year of experience in engineering.
