The Xenial Product Education team is looking for an experienced technical writer capable of writing and maintaining user and administrator guides, walkthroughs, release notes, and developer documentation for each product line. We are interested in candidates capable of performing the following responsibilities:

  • Validate content accuracy and update resources to correspond with software releases
  • Communicate with multiple organizational levels and implement feedback
  • Initiate and drive projects to improve customer experience, efficiency, and sensible cost avoidance
  • Participate in peer review/proofreading as needed
  • Contribute to technical and process improvements within the team.
  • Be self-motivated and also work well in a team environment
  • Using XML-based content authoring tool, create documentation materials (technical guides, quick reference guides, release notes, and job aids)
  • Utilize workflow tools such as JIRA to sort and locate documentation requirements based on product development; consult with technical resources to clarify and refine.
  • Have strong attention to detail
  • Conduct thorough needs analysis with stakeholders and solicit feedback on created content
  • Perform other responsibilities as required
  • Demonstrate adaptability and forward thinking in the face of technological or organizational change
  • Adhere to the Xenial style guide for writing documentation in a consistent, clear, and precise way to guide customers and company partners
  • Help generate a roadmap for future documentation deliverables

Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Office and GSuite
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Relevant experience in technical writing or other software-focused technical field
  • Bachelor’s Degree in technology, education, writing, or related field
  • U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud suite, including Premiere, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Experience with markup languages (e.g. XML) or other type(s) of content authoring tools

Bonus skills

  • Learning Management System administration
  • Experience with Atlassian JIRA
  • Experience with HTML and/or CSS
  • Restaurant or retail experience
