Job Description

McDonald’s is seeking a collaborative and proactive individual who will clarify expectations, apply relevant standards and best-practices to craft and develop innovative solutions, POCs and fast fail concepts for our technology deployment team. This will be a collaborative role and will have influence and oversight over the front-end channel and backend systems to ensure consistency of product and integration standard methodologies. You’ll interface with McDonald’s franchisees, vendors and numbers of internal teams. There’s no shortage of opportunity as the deployment team oversees all technology delivered into the 13,500+ restaurants and just last year over a million software upgrades were performed.

  • Build relationships across organization, specifically with McDonalds Product Engineering Managers and McDonald development teams
  • Build out mapping of technical domains and ownership groups that aid in connecting teams to resolve blockers and drive efficient development
  • Work with Product Engineering Managers to ensure that development team backlogs are appropriately populated
  • Track 3rd party development team performance and ensure that targets are in line with development targets
  • Experience in deployment roll out across network of geographically dispersed and high number of restaurant sites preferred
  • Triages technology proposals against existing infrastructure standards and best practices, and leads subsequent solution and variance activities
  • Lead, develop, and implement sequencing, priorities, dependencies, and dashboards needed for solution deployments
  • Develop deep understanding of development pipelines and corresponding tools leveraged by development teams
  • Develop understanding of testing processes and tools
  • Partner with development teams to identify opportunities for improvements in the development pipelines and consolidate into improvement backlog
  • Consolidate team performance, outputs and roadmaps for sharing with larger organization on monthly/quarterly basis
  • Analyze new solution requests, solicits, and clarifies nonfunctional requirements, and works with developer team to formulate conceptual and physical architectures, to rapidly deliver solutions in a fast paced, multi-vendor, cloud-first environment
  • Collect and report on development team performance metrics on regular cadence
  • Assist development team in removal of blockers during development sprints
Qualifications

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent years of experience.
  • Able to work with culturally diverse teams across levels in a global organization and in an extensively outsourced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices.
  • Experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, and PowerBI
  • Solid grasp of the Software Development Life Cycle including Agile development practices
  • Recognize and communicate areas of opportunity for product, process, and service improvements
  • Knowledge of DevOps principles and Agile processes.
  • 5+ years experience in working with development teams with exposure to CI/CD pipelines.
  • 5+ years of non-internship professional experience in Project Management
  • Exceptional problem solving/critical thinking skills
  • Strong stakeholder management and prioritization skills, organized and meticulous
  • Self-driven with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Applications
  • 5+ years facilitating and leading teams in fast paced, results driven environment

Desired skills:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, often changing, and sometimes ambiguous environment
  • Ability to understand complex integration needs and work with multiple teams to drive alignment, integrate, and certify the integration of front-end and back-end systems
  • Strong background with experience integrating applications and systems developed by multiple parties
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Exposure in open source tools such as Node.JS, Cassandra, etc.
  • Experience with RESTful API Design/Microservice design a plus
