Azure reliability (AzRel) enables world class reliability for Microsoft Cloud customers by making it safe, obvious, and easy for every engineer to build and operate trusted, reliable, and secure cloud services. 
We Achieve This By
  • Proactively identifying service risk and working with engineering teams to ensure these are mitigated through the most efficient and sustainable methods.
  • Listening and actioning developer and customer experience feedback that improve customer satisfaction and developer productivity.
  • Drive continuous improvement through risk and standards identification and development implementing and running programs that result in safe organizational learning, reducing risk by proactively modeling learnings, opportunities, and supporting prioritization.
  • Develop automated technical solutions (from proof of concepts to feature requirements that are engineering into platform solutions) to proactively identify service health, risks, and standards that help service teams stay healthy and reliable.
  • Leveraging our service reliability engineering teams as pathfinders to create a continuous feedback loop for risk, standards, and organizational learning.

You will be part of a Technical Program Management team with a charter that is the highest priority to our Cloud and AI organization and our customer – Quality.
Responsibilities
Analysis of Customer and Engineering Feedback Signals
  • Contributes to Identification of complex opportunities and gaps across organizational boundaries and defines success criteria and performance metrics.
  • Leads customer engagements and market research that identifies complex opportunities and gaps in multiple feature areas; tests hypotheses and proposes solution roadmap.
  • Acts as a subject matter expert leading and driving alignment of customer and engineering priorities.
Product/Service Development
  • Partners with the engineering team and contributes to define, prioritize, and deliver on the roadmap for multiple feature areas (e.g., risks, standards) across divisional boundaries.
  • Drives continuous improvements of Quality patterns (i.e., risks, standards)
  • Tracks, coordinates, and communicates end-to-end project schedules (e.g., epics, sprint/semester plans, milestones, timelines, releases, and dependencies) for priorities across divisional boundaries.
Product/Service Performance
  • Influence product roadmaps by developing relationships with product teams, sharing insights and data from customer engagements, and driving executive communication.
  • Acts as a technical advisor to educate and evangelize the feature areas (e.g., product, service) across divisional boundaries they work on with customers via meetings, presentations, and other forums.
  • Partners with others to collect and analyze performance metrics, monitor progress, and derive insights for multiple feature areas. 
Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
  • 1+ year(s) experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 2+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
Other Requirements
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:
  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Additional Or Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree AND 4+ years experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development
  • OR equivalent experience.
  • 1+ year(s) experience reading and/or writing code (e.g., sample documentation, product demos).
  • 4+ years experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Technical Program Management IC3 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $94,300 - $182,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $120,900 - $198,600 per year.
