Job Description
SimVentions, consistently voted one of Virginia's Best Places to Work, is looking for a Technical Director to join our Cybersecurity team. As a Technical Director, you will provide technical guidance to the cybersecurity and software development customer support team while interfacing directly with Government technical leadership, ensuring the products and services are technically superior and exhibit the highest quality possible. You will also shape the future by guiding the technical strategy, development plan, focusing on innovation, and providing strategic guidance to various customers.


Responsibilities


  • Support execution of strategy and plan through research, definition of requirements for team, and building customer and teammate relationships
  • Focus on innovation and automation to drive further efficiencies within the various customer groups
  • Develop and execute plans to maintain current work, pursue new work, including writing proposals, developing staffing plans, and creating business relationships
  • Promote company culture and team collaboration
  • Participate in strategic planning for cybersecurity team and capabilities
  • Lead and/or mentor individuals and teams in career progression, best practices and developing innovative solutions
  • Provide direct support to customer requirements and tasking to include cybersecurity engineering, network engineering, systems engineering, cybersecurity requirement development, software development, system testing, or simulation/gaming development
  • Perform as customer liaison with sponsors and SimV personnel/team in support of various requirements
  • Support business development to include proposals, Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) projects, and identification of new opportunities
  • Research and evaluate new technologies and tools as opportunities for innovation and development excellence


Required Skills & Experience


  • Ability to effectively communicate and brief high-level personnel on ongoing tasks, strategy, and future plans
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering, DoD, and the technology industry
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and succinctly in written and oral presentations
  • Ability to work in a face-paced Research and Development (R&D) environment and quickly adapt to changing requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in effective team leadership
  • Onsite support required 5 days a week at Dahlgren
  • In depth understanding of computer security, military system specifications, and DoD IT policies
  • Willingness to travel to support test events in the field
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAM Level II or IAT Level III certification
  • Ability to effectively communicate with the Government customer, other contractor organizations and SimV personnel through all levels of the teams


Additional Requirements


  • Due to the requirements in the Safer Federal Workforce Taskforce guidance and the nature of our covered contracts and facilities, all employees may need to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a legal exemption with approved accommodation.


Preferred Skills & Experience


  • Experience with simulation or gaming development
  • Comfortable working on a team and interfacing with outside entities
  • Experience with integrating cybersecurity throughout all project phases
  • Willingness to adapt quickly to new requirements
  • Experience with object-oriented software development (Python or C++)
  • Education: BS in Computer Science/Information Systems related field (preferred)
  • Experience with integrating cybersecurity offensive and defensive capabilities throughout software development life cycle


Education: BS in Computer Science/Information Systems related field (preferred)


Minimum Clearance: Final Secret Clearance Required (US Citizenship Required)


Travel (if applicable): Negligible - Various CONUS locations
