Please note: This position will support the South and East Coast Commercial Unit (CU) and NK Seeds. Memphis, TN is the preferred location for this position.


The Technical Development Lead will lead and drive the development and implementation of a Technical Support Plan within the CU which will support sales initiatives, new technology introductions, and technical training across our Seed, Crop Protection (CP) and Seed Care portfolios.


  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement across functional boundaries within the Syngenta organization to develop and implement key technical initiatives to support business and sales campaign priorities
  • Plan and support the implementation of Grow More Experience Sites (GMES) and NK product/portfolio demonstration sites
  • Develop strategy for managing CU sales support data generation, analysis, and summarization with key partners, e.g. Data Analytics, Technical Product Leads, Agronomy Service Managers, R&D, Field Product Specialists, Seeds Agronomy Managers and Agronomists, etc.
  • Ensure data summaries and technical sales support materials are produced and made available to the CU sales team
  • Ensure the Active Ingredient and Sales Support programs are aligned with CU campaign and launch sequencing of new technologies
  • Work across multiple crops and technology platforms to effectively position our products and build excitement and confidence internally and externally by providing local data and in-depth knowledge of key technologies and solutions
  • Act as a key interface with Product Marketing Teams, CU Customer Marketing, Agronomy, Product Development, and R&D to ensure alignment of sales support program with “in-year” campaigns and pre-launch market preparation for new technologies
  • Effectively manage the technical sales support budget for the CU
  • Lead the development, prioritization, and implementation of the CU Technical Support Strategy and Plan with CU Agronomy and Marketing


Qualifications


Required:


  • Experience with application of crop agronomics and technologies that are the financial drivers of a grower’s business is required
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in Crop Agronomy, Plant Sciences and/or related field required
  • Up to 35% travel is required for this role
  • Master’s Degree is required for this role (Ph.D. is preferred)

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills. Must effectively engage, influence, and enable internal colleagues to showcase the value that our technologies bring to our customers
  • Agronomic expertise and experience in field research and customer interactions
  • Ability to work across functions with colleagues from R&D, Marketing, and Commercial Agronomy and Sales
  • Passionate for being out in the field with channel partners and growers, putting our products to the test against our competitors, and sharing the results in a compelling way with a wide audience of internal and external stakeholders
