Technical/Data Analyst
Location: Remote - candidates in New York or neighboring region preferred
As a Technical/Data Analyst, you will collaborate with NYSTEC and NYSDOH team members to assist with the Medicaid Health Home Re-designation Program. Your day-to-day role as a Technical/Data Analyst will be providing quality improvement support, including but not limited to, reviewing and understanding requirements, developing and maintaining a Quality Assurance review tool within the Excel application, referencing prior development and coding artifacts, completing enhancements and testing on the tool, remediating errors and defects within the review tool, and working closely with the Health Home Re-designation project team to ensure that we provide a valuable product for all health homes across New York State
Job Duties:
- Provide guidance and suggestions based on experience in terms of development in the Excel application.
- Complete enhancements to the review tool within the Microsoft Excel application.
- Deal with advanced Excel capabilities, such as formulas, tables, and graphs.
- Maintain historical records.
- Develop data specifications and technical support documentation.
- Develop and maintain a Quality Assurance review tool within the Microsoft Excel application.
- Understand and enact requirements provided by the team.
- Provide regular development timelines.
- Maintain client confidence and protects operations by keeping information confidential.
- Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
- Develop test plans and software documentation to support code modifications and additions.
- Apply program rules and policies to support health care provider’s compliance needs.
- Develop database and reporting functionalities with the review tool.
- Use industry standard development practices to ensure quality.
- Develop reporting and export functionality, including creating macros.
Job Qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree engineering, computer sciences, MIS, or another related field, with at least 2 years of related experience is required.
Required Skills:
- Proficiency in VBA.
- Process oriented and results-driven work strategy.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Access.
- Have previously conducted full cycle development, from analysis to development to testing and deployment.
- Ability to work with and relate to staff and demonstrate active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Strong with C#, Python and SQL.

- Experience in meeting deadlines and adhering to strict standard.
- Excel Associate Certification
- Process oriented and results-driven work strategy.
- Excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Ability to work well independently.
- Microsoft Excel Expert Certification
- Exceptional Customer Service relationship techniques, including superior verbal and written communication skills.
