Job Definition:The Tech Lab Program Coordinator will work directly with and report to Layla Dargahi, Program Director and/or Freda Statom-Greene, Executive Director to primarily oversee and coordinate our computer coding camp Tech Lab; further details on the responsibilities this position entails will be discussed further in the hiring process.
Responsibilities could also include assisting with organization wide programming and events.
Responsibilities:
I. Program Logistics and Implementation
1.Manages Tech Lab, our free coding camp that works to provide coding skills to populations who are underrepresented in the tech industry. Tech Lab works to provide essential and foundational programming skills to people in the East Bay who have had difficulties entering the tech industry, and need a strong foundation to begin,
2. On occasion assists in the development and implementation of YWCA Berkeley/Oakland events and programming.
3. Collaborates with their corresponding and supervising Director to manage and outreach to partners
4. Leads and trains interns and volunteers in relevant initiatives and programming, as necessary
5. Maintains relationships and communication with community stakeholders, student organizations and conference collaborators. Recruits, trains, and supervises interns and program members.
6. Develops curriculum, materials, and recruits speakers and presenters; collaborates, and provides input for Organization-wide events; maintains program records (contact sheets, status reports, evaluations, program data and statistical reports, etc.)
7. Have weekly check-ins with the corresponding Program Director to provide programming updates and receive feedback.

B. soliciting donations and sponsorship for programs/events.
C. partner relations.

Qualifications:
- Relevant work or volunteer experience required.
- Have a basic understanding of some (or ideally all) of the following foundational coding languages: Python, R, CSS, HTML
- Strong leadership skills, including excellent and clear communication with diverse groups. Specific experience in education, domestic violence reform, financial literacy, career counseling, racial justice, and/or non-profit work is a plus.
- Ability to take initiative and work both independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritize and perform diverse tasks under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Have knowledge of Google Suite, Microsoft, Zoom, and Canva. Knowledge of WordPress, Mailchimp, Asana, Adobe products, Google/social media analytics, or other digital platforms, a plus.
- Enthusiasm for and strong interest in the YWCA mission and its goals.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to adapt and be flexible.
- Educational and program development experience and knowledge of culturally-relevant educational teaching techniques.
Hours of Work:6-7 hours per week. Hours can be flexible depending on the needs of the candidate and organization.
Schedule is flexible and can be determined between the Program Coordinator and the Executive Director. YWCA operates 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday, but the Program Coordinator may be required to work occasional evening or weekend hours as needed by the program. This is an in-person position, with a potential for occasional virtual work as communicated, approved, and scheduled between the Program Coordinator and Program Director.
