ABOUT THE MENTAL HEALTH ASSOCIATION OF SAN FRANCISCO (MHASF) MHASF is a mental health peer-run nonprofit located in downtown San Francisco and has been serving people and agencies across the Bay Area since 1947. As mental health consumers, we center the lived expertise of people with mental health challenges in our advocacy, education, and support programs. We believe that dignity and recovery in mental health are something everyone can experience. Our staff is dedicated to creating spaces for learning and healing around stigmatized and under-resourced areas in mental health-hoarding and cluttering behavior; post-hospitalization peer support; mental health and nutrition; peer mental health workforce development; and much more. OVERVIEW OF PROGRAM & POSITION The TAMHS Program Manager will be under the direct supervision of the Director of Education and Innovation and responsible for development, implementation, and management of the Tech@Hand Project at MHASF under the Technology Assisted Mental Health Solutions Project within Help@Hand. Help@Hand Collaborative supports innovative and community-based technology programs across counties in California. The TAMHS Program Manager will focus on meeting and maintaining contract deliverables and community partnerships, implementing innovative projects, providing cross-department technical assistance, and strategizing ways to enhance program development and infrastructure. They will also support the Department of Education and Innovation team with developing quality assurance and improvement efforts for systematized department program function and utilization. TOP 3 RESPONSIBILITIES Management of peer-technology innovation programs to ensure achievement of deliverables, continuous programmatic improvement, and efficient use of resources Produce accurate and timely ad hoc and required reporting of programs' status and deliverables Achieve OKRs including departmental growth of innovative programs and culturally responsive programming GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES Familiarity with the mental health recovery movement, peer support model, and local resources Ability to self-disclose mental health lived experience as needed; clinical diagnosis not required Recruit and engage program participants in the TAMHS Tech @ Hand Program offerings and research such as surveys, interviews and focus groups Establish and maintain strong working relationships with agency partners, consumer advocates, community stakeholders, and other community organizations Facilitating timely completion of reports on key initiatives Support the development of marketing and outreach strategy for programs Accountable to ensure adherence to program and project deadlines and timelines Conduct continuous quality improvement and evaluation of programs and program policies Support contract creation, amendments, and revisions as needed Ability to travel to local and regional training sites and meetings as needed Other duties as assigned As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the above list of responsibilities is intended to provide a general overview of duties to be assigned and in no way is a comprehensive list of position duties and responsibilities. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS A minimum of 3 years of managerial experience BA/BS degree, MA/MS preferred, preferably in the social sciences, public health, social welfare, education or four or more years of professional experience that corresponds with the responsibilities for this position as noted above. Expertise in managing multiple programs at any given time Experience with developing new programs and enhancing existing programs Experience with community engagement strategies, health disparities, cultural and linguistic competency, and culturally responsive education and dissemination strategies Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to organize and present complex information in a clear, accurate and concise manner Proficiency in public speaking and facilitating presentations Highly organized and resourceful, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and manage time well to accomplish all key tasks and deadlines Professional-level computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and web-based collaboration/communication tools Ability to move projects forward, organize information, and support the oversight of multiple programs for successful and timely completion Awareness and understanding of mental health stigma and discrimination Behavioral health knowledge, including familiarity with psychiatric diagnoses, psychiatric symptoms and associated behavior, psychiatric medications, and substance use issues Willingness to learn from others, take feedback, and make adjustments to communication and behavior Experience taking initiative to self-educate about unfamiliar subjects or concepts Affirmative and accepting approaches toward people from diverse backgrounds and experiences Commitment to upholding the mission and values of MHASF SUCCESSFUL ATTITUES & WORK APPROACHES Highly organized and resourceful, attention to detail, ability to multi-task and manage time well to accomplish all key tasks and deadlines.
