System Administrator Jobs

JOB TITLE:

Systems Administrator (2 days onsite, 3 days remote. Must be onsite day 1)

DESCRIPTION:

Compass Pointe has partnered with a global financial company in the Owings Mills, MD area that is looking to hire a Systems Administrator. This team is responsible for building all the applications that come through the firm and making them available for users. This role will specifically focus on creating and working with uninstalls. The main function of a Systems Administrator is to be responsible for system administration of core systems as well as monitoring and repair of high-performance computing systems. Ensures consistent and reliable operation including enterprise servers and network infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Writes and implements scripts to automate tasks.
• Responsible for general systems administration tasks including system configuration management, OS installations, security updates, urgent system patching.
• Reviews system logs, application logs and security logs.
• Performs daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, network disruption awareness and predefined key processes.
• Ability to identify and troubleshoot hardware components that are problematic.
• Provides wide ranging system administration in a multi-platform environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with FlexAPP.
• SCCM experience.
• Packaging applications using Powershell and Installshield.
• Bachelors degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required.
• Proven work experience as a system or network administrator.
• 5-7 years’ experience required.
