Job Summary:


As the SVP Engineering and Operations, you will be a member of the Senior IT leadership team reporting to the CIO. You and your organization will be responsible for the development and advancement of all engineered software that supports NCR. You will also be responsible for custom system to system integrations that support technology integration across the enterprise on a global scale. You will be responsible for driving the strategic vision, managing employee technology, network and data center operations, as well as incident and crisis management.


Responsibilities:


  • Manage the software division's budget and resource allocation to optimize productivity and cost-efficiency.
  • Partner with senior IT leadership to develop and execute a comprehensive software development and integration strategy aligned with the company's long-term goals and objectives.
  • Partner with business partners at all levels of the organization to understand and align on an IT strategy that allows us to be more successful and capture maximum enterprise value.
  • Monitor and assess the performance of software applications and integration processes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing necessary enhancements.
  • Organize, lead, manage, and mentor multiple teams of software engineers and integration specialists to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of the latest trends and advancements in software engineering and integration technologies, and proactively recommend innovative solutions to drive business growth and efficiency.
  • Work closely with enterprise architecture, technology strategists and product owners to understand business needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and ensure effective integration between software systems.
  • Institute common practices, processes and tools that will drive efficiency and effectiveness in your delivery processes.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide coaching and mentoring to team members to promote professional growth and enhance their skills.
  • Work with technology strategy teams to develop application rationalization roadmaps that retire non-differentiated solutions.
  • Oversee the documentation of software architecture, design specifications, and integration processes to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity within the organization.
  • Identify where differentiated solutions can be improved and modernized. Develop plans to modernize.
  • Drive a culture of excellence in software development, emphasizing best practices, code quality, and adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address technical challenges, identify solutions, and ensure alignment with organizational goals.


Desired experience for SVP Engineering & Operations:


  • Extensive experience in transforming talent and building a technology organization; leading, coaching and mentoring IT engineering and operations leaders
  • Experience leading a modern software delivery organization in an enterprise environment.
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role overseeing global software development within a SaaS or technology-focused company.
  • Experience with Cloud native development
  • Experience driving and establishing software development delivery that operates in a product -centered agile method
  • Bachelor's in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field


Preferred Skills:


  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field; MBA or relevant business degree is a plus.
  • In-depth knowledge of software development methodologies, Agile practices, and DevOps principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Track record of delivering successful software products on time and within budget.
  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry with strong business acumen and demonstrated ability to align technology strategies with organizational goals.


Work Conditions:


  • May require occasional travel including international travel
  • Must work in office 4 days per week with a long-term objective of being in the office 5 days per week
  • Office location can be in Frisco TX or Atlanta GA
