Job Description
Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager (SCM) will report directly to the Director of Manufacturing and indirectly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Supply Chain Manager develops and implements protocols, strategy and procedures related to the acquisition and readiness of material and distribution of completed company products. The SCM strives for continuous improvement in their area of responsibility to effectively enable their peer managers to perform their duties in a timely, cost-efficient, and Customer-focused manner.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
•Hires and trains departmental supervisors.
•Works with Department Supervisors to establish the daily workflow and schedules of the Inventory, Shipping & Receiving and Purchasing departments.
•Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
•Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
Duties/Responsibilities:
•Collaborates with other departments and stakeholders to identify and maintain resources needed to establish and provide an effective supply chain.
•Establishes performance metrics for measurement, comparison, or evaluation of factors affecting the supply chain.
•Manages detailed inventories of materials and supplies located in the company, at sites, and in the factory.
•Maintains required quantity of supplies and materials to optimize production.
•Analyzes current inventories and procedures; suggests improvements to increase efficiency of supply chain and profitability for the company.
•Develops policies to increase efficiency throughout the supply chain while ensuring quality and safety; implements subsequent changes to processes.
•Assesses the need for material-handling equipment and staffing; makes recommendations to ensure efficient loading, unloading, movement, and storage of materials.
•Maintains a friendly and professional relationship with vendors while promoting company initiatives and values.
•Works closely with purchasing in the negotiation of prices for raw material and delivery with suppliers, vendors, and/or shipping companies.
•Monitors the performance of suppliers, assessing their ability to meet quality and delivery requirements; identifies and qualifies new suppliers in collaboration with other departments.
•Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong knowledge in the applicable contractual flow downs, federal, state, Federal Acquisition Requirements/DFAR, and local laws, and the ability to apply them in the procurements of commodities, services, and subcontracts.
•Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to create and maintain positive working relationships with vendors, suppliers, shippers, and customers.
•Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
•Thorough understanding of company products and logistics.
•Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
•Proficient with ERP/MRP systems

Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in Business or related field required.
•Three years of experience as a supervisor, manager, or similar relevant position required.
•Minimum of three years of experience with U.S. Government procurement, contracts, subcontracts or similar industry.
•Must be eligible to have access to export controlled unclassified information (i.e., must be a U.S. person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations)
•Experienced in competitive procurement with multiple contracting formats and working knowledge of special payment provisions (progress and performance-based payments)
Physical Requirements:
•Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
•Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Classification
•Position is full-time, Exempt
Position requires full time work week spent in the shop/office. Normal hours are 7am-4pm. (Must be flexible to work overtime as needed based on project requirements and deadlines)
