Meet the team:
- The control of incoming materials for our manufacturing process is critical to maintain our manufacturing schedules and high-quality standards in a high paced environment.
- The Supervisor for QC Inspection manages a team of Quality Inspection personnel in the Receiving Inspection area in San Diego COGS department. The supervisor organizes the tasks and requirements of the Receiving Inspection area in coordination with Logistics and Distribution management at Dexcom’s SD inbound Materials warehouse.
Where you come in:
- Identifies problems, and proposes resolutions that are timely, cost-effective, and meet quality requirements.
- Performs supervisory and administrative duties associated with inspection personnel management.
- Responsible for material flow, storage of parts, and accurate inventory transactions within the MRP system.
- Managing First Article Inspections and ad hoc inspection requirements through Jira.
- Coordinates the tasks and work plans of the Receiving Inspection area.
- Works across sites to ensure alignment of Receiving Inspection Activities
- Conducts training for Receiving Inspection team.
- Identifies and implements continuous improvement projects.
- Maintains quality metrics and reports, as required, and implements appropriate preventive/corrective action to improve quality.
- Responsible for supporting inspection of engineering builds.
- Works with QA, Manufacturing, Engineering, and other department personnel, as necessary, to support quality and business objectives.
- Assists in development of inspection procedures.
- Observes and verifies the accuracy and adequacy of the inspection activities and records, including activities in 1factory inspection system.
What makes you successful:
- Able to read and understand drawings and specifications and inspection criteria and to apply criteria using appropriate and properly configured inspection tools.
- Minimum of 3 years applying quality management systems in their role
- A self-motivated individual, able to work in a team with minimal supervision.
- GDT knowledge
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Metrology systems knowledge
- Oracle, Reliance ETQ, 1factory ERP and Quality management systems experience preferred.
- Experience in medical device or equivalent regulated industry
- Supervisory experience
- Understanding of acceptance sampling plans, ANSI/ASQ Z1.4, Z1.9 and C=0.
- Strong computer skills desired; proficient in use of Microsoft Office and database applications.
- Bachelor’s degree

- Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.

Workplace Type
- The Workplace Type for this role is Assigned Desk. Based on the nature of your role you will have an assigned desk or office located at a Dexcom site and should plan to be onsite approximately 4-5 days per week.

Exempt Salary Details:
- The annual base salary range for this role is $82,900 to $138,100. Final compensation package will ultimately depend on factors including relevant experience, skillset, knowledge, business needs and market demand.
Experience and Education
- Typically requires a Bachelors degree with 5-8 years of industry experience.
- Informal management/ team lead experience.
