The Supervisor – Production is responsible for supervising and coordinating daily duties of hourly associates engaged in manufacturing activities focused on high efficiency, safety, food safety, quality and cost metrics.

What your day will look like:

  • Strong collaboration with other production support teams
  • Enforce and comply with all Company policies and procedures
  • Actively supervising and directing associates on the production lines to build their skills while working toward continuous improvement
  • Reviews records for accuracy of information and compliance with established procedures and to determine adequacy of stock levels
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the UNITED policies and applicable laws
  • Plan, assign, and direct work
  • Address complaints and resolve problems
  • Appraise performance
  • Interview, hire, and train associates
  • Develop hourly associates as leaders to help in directing work area
  • Builds positive associate morale
  • Issues written and oral instructions
  • Effective use of all maintenance operating systems up to and including Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Production Line Monitoring System (PLMS)

What you need to succeed:

  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by position and compliance with UNITED safety policies
  • Minimum age 18 years old
  • Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
  • Ability to effectively adapt to change
  • Ability to read, write and speak English
  • Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with UNITED fleet policy
  • Ability to multitask and work efficiently under pressure
  • Regular and prompt attendance is an essential function of the job
  • Proficient knowledge in the operation of continuous motion packaging, filling, and palletizing equipment
  • Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
  • Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
  • Frequent walking/standing
  • Frequent exposure to water, weather, and noise
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and 3 to 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Willingness to work weekends, holidays, or flexible schedule as required
