- Attention to detail and accuracy required in ensuring that policy decisions, procedures, and operations are compliant with MSTS and DOE regulations, procedures, and federal and state laws.
- Conduct periodic assessments and identify compliance issues, concerns and deficiencies with recommended corrective actions and plans.
- Must possess excellent interpersonal communication skills and ability to deal with conflicting personalities in a tactful, professional, and effective manner while screening and maintaining confidentiality is required.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communication skills, and computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ensure materials, products, and equipment meet quality standards.
- The Primary work location will be at the Losee Road facility in North Las Vegas (NLV), Nevada, however work may be performed remotely with the contiguous United States, in accordance with Company policy; reports to NNSS and other locations as deemed necessary.
- Pre-placement physical examination, which includes a drug screen, is required. MSTS maintains a substance abuse policy that includes random drug testing.
- Directly supervises multidisciplinary team of technicians, engineers, and scientists, including monitoring their work performance against specific goals and metrics, approving time, and participating in the recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training of staff.
- Perform additional duties unique to this position as assigned by manager.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, changing priorities, and apply leadership concepts with an emphasis on continuous improvement and team building.
- Bachelors' degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 8 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
- Works with managers, supervisors, and employees to deconflict work and resolve issues.
- Able to prioritize and schedule multiple activities in the most efficient and effective manner while meeting required deadlines.
- Able to develop and maintain relationships with all levels of employees throughout the company, customers, and outside agencies.
- Create an environment where employees feel safe to raise issues, empowered to address issues, and supported to resolve issues.
- Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, procedure manuals, operating and maintenance instructions.
- Work schedule for this position will be 4/10’s, Monday-Thursday (subject to change).
- Minimum of 8 years of electro-optics, electronics, and progressively responsible experience preferred.
- Must be able to lead teams and foster teamwork within the department.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Provide day-to-day work direction while ensuring scope, schedule and budget are met.
- Will perform work of the same type as those being supervised, as well as, providing technical guidance when necessary.
- Establish activity level work control documents and conducts pre-job and post-job briefings.
