We are looking for our next Rock to complete our Foster Care Team!


Annual Salary $48,464.00


Schedule Hybrid work enviroment , Can work remotely however some days may be required in the office.


Weekends, On-Call, And Some Holidays May Be Required


Do you meet the following position requirements below ;


  • Three years’ work experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function required.
  • Master degree in Human Behavioral Science field preferred; or a Bachelor degree in a Human Behavioral Science field required.
  • Unrestricted, valid driver’s license with good driving record. Reliable personal transportation suitable for safely transporting persons served; proof of current automobile insurance.
  • Experience
  • Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.


More About The Position


The Supervisor of Foster Care supervises a team up to 5 staff, (2 Lead Youth ILP Workers, and 3 Foster Care Workers). Daily functions can include facilitating team meetings, coordinating placement functions, interviewing for ILP youth applicants, performance data processing and reporting, supervision and support of staff assigned to them, coordinating home needs with landlord, tracking staff case requirements such as reports, court, visits etc. for compliance, and ensuring staffing is met in the ILP homes including contingent staff for emergency coverage.

Job Summary


Provides support and leadership for case managers/case assistant teams that provide services for children and families on an assigned caseload in accordance with all applicable contractual and regulatory requirements and accreditation standards.


Duties And Responsibilities


  • Work with licensing supervisor to ensure compliance with child placing agency rules and liaison with family court, DHS and other community systems.
  • Support, direction and leadership for case managers.
  • Ensure accurate and completion of all reports and assignments required by the organization or other agencies.
  • Oversee assignment and placement of children.
  • Provide weekly individual and team supervision to staff. Lead team meetings and train and support staff.
  • Provide supportive casework services to child, birth family and foster family during initial placement and replacement.
  • Prepare and attend all scheduled court hearings on assigned caseload.
  • Provide a range of case management services, including social casework, counseling and treatment of clients, and community referral.


Job Qualifications


Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification


  • Licensed by the State of Michigan as a social worker preferred.
  • Master degree in Human Behavioral Science field preferred; or a Bachelor degree in a Human Behavioral Science field required.


Experience


  • Three years’ work experience in a child welfare agency, a child caring institution, or an agency performing a child welfare function required.


Knowledge Skills And Abilities


  • Ability to speak, read and write fluent English.
  • Advanced ability to read, write and interpret legal and technical documents.
  • Ability to utilize basic word processing and specific computer software applications.
  • Ability to work in team relationships with other professionals from various community groups, agencies and disciplines.
  • Ability to understand, analyze and interpret data and financial reports and effect corrective action.
  • Ability to communicate expectations clearly and to effectively utilize a teamwork approach with staff at all levels.
  • Ability to develop outcomes measurements related to programs activities and services.
  • Ability to be culturally sensitive and relate to multi-problem families
  • Ability to advocate for staff and program needs within the organization and inter-organization systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to complete short and long-term goal setting.
  • Advanced knowledge of social service administration/management, and ability to use group dynamics and processes.

  • Required to participate in a system of 24 hour availability to clients, foster and adoptive parents, and staff, as required.
