Job Description

About Our Client
Our client is a cutting edge full-service general contractor who has been building in North Florida proudly since the late 1980s. Specializing in commercial construction, they have a large pipeline of upcoming work with multiple school districts in NE Florida.

  • Maintains a clean and safe jobsite. Enforces cleanup with the subcontractors and ensures the sub trades protect their work from the damage of others.
  • Plan and supervise Assistant Superintendent and/or craft activities. Includes determining method of construction, manpower levels, material quantities equipment, temporary power sources, work schedule and documenting actual hours worked.
  • Inspects the work as the work is being performed to ensure it meets the contract quality requirements.
  • Coordinates assigned work with work of different crafts, subcontractors, suppliers, testing companies and owner vendors.
  • Responsible for implementation of the Safety Plan for the project, ensuring the overall safety of all workers, trades, craftsmen, owners, representatives, etc. on site. Competent person on site regarding all safety issues. Documents and ensures corrective measures are implemented when necessary.
  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.
  • Coordinates all closeout activities to ensure timely completion and closeout of the project.
  • Assumes budget responsibility for labor costs, including subsistence and expenses, and miscellaneous purchases, such as concrete, lumber, equipment rental and overhead.
  • Recruits and coordinates training for all hourly jobsite personnel.
  • Responsible for Jobsite Set up and Site Logistics. Ensures the jobsite trailer is set up and maintained.
  • Produces weekly reports.
  • Conducts weekly subcontractor progress meetings and safety meetings.
  • Understands the Project Schedule and implements a plan to meet or beat the Master Schedule. Pre-plans and schedules jobsite activity as required.
  • Acts as the on-site liaison with the owner, owner's rep's and design team. Maintains a positive relationship and is available to address any needs, concerns and questions as they may arise.
  • Prepares Daily Report and communicates project activity to management.

The Successful Applicant
  • Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Must be able to meet high quality standards while meeting aggressive schedules/deadlines.
  • Must possess a minimum of five years' experience as a commercial superintendent and /or training
  • Must have strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
