Summer Student On-Air Radio Broadcaster - Summer Sound

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION FOR THE BENSON SUMMER SOUND PROGRAM

Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination is considered a minimum qualification requirement for PPS job applicants and this proof will be requested during the hiring process.

LOCATION, DATES, HOURS:

PROGRAM START DATE (First Day Students in Session): June 26th, 2023

PROGRAM END DATE (Last Day Students in Session): August 18th, 2023

DUTY DAYS/HOURS: Monday – Friday & Weekends; 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM

ANTICIPATED LOCATIONS: Benson @ Marshall

CONTINGENCIES

All positions are contingent on enrollment of students. It is essential that applicants remain available. We will, however, make earlier commitments as definite positions become evident. All positions are contingent upon successful clearance of a District Criminal History background check.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

All employees follow Portland Public School policies, rules, and regulations.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: current (or recently matriculated) Benson KBPS/radio broadcasting major student preferred.

Experiece: on air experience from KBPS/radio broadcasting major classes preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

• Basic computer skills.
• Basic knowledge of FCC on air content guidelines.
• Knowledge of how to operate a radio station control board.
• Proficient in digital studio software (ex: Adobe Audition).

PAY RATE: $14.75 per hour
