Summer Software Engineer Intern

Who Are We?

Flare FS is building the operating system for non-profit organizations. We help nonprofits efficiently manage their financial reporting and compliance requirements, so they can spend less time on administrative work, and more time driving impact.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Review code of other team members and provide constructive direction
• Work closely with Design and Product teams to move features from concept to launch
• Engineering and developing core product
• Write clean, well-architected, self-documenting code
• Prioritizing work to fit business needs
• Refining features into smaller, manageable tasks
• Full-stack web development

What You'll Need

We'd like you to have the following, BUT if you don't, but still think you would be a good fit for the role, we still encourage you to apply!

• 3rd or 4th year student* (we care more about skill than year)
• Experience with SQL/Relational Databases
• Creative thinking and natural curiosity
• Experience with Node.js, React, TypeScript and/or JavaScript
• Desire to learn and grow as an engineer with the organization
• Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of your work
• Empathy for user experience and desire to improve it

Our Process

If we think there's a good fit we'll reach out. Here's what you can expect for our interview process:

• An intro call with our founder. This will primarily be a culture fit call and an opportunity for you to learn more about Flare.
• Assuming all goes well, we'll send over an offer!
• Depending on location and area of technical of expertise, you'll have a conversation or two with members from our engineering team. These will be a combination of technical conversation and culture fit.
