POSITION DETAILS


The Student Life Specialist (Fellowships Specialist - HEOa) Under Supervision Of The Director Of The Campus Honors & Scholar Engagement Will


  • Plan and manage the coordination for major events such as Prestigious Awards Day, weekly student scholar development workshops and speaker series, alumni networking events, winter scholar boot camp, summer scholar boot camp, and internal award panels.
  • Manage data collection for assessment projects to assess effectiveness of office programming including, but not limited to, student scholar action plan and award tracking, winter boot camp and summer scholar program participation and award outcomes, fellowship advising, scholar communities, internal panel review committees.
  • Maintain external partnerships with organizations to support scholar internship placements and research opportunities for the Emerging Scholar Summer Fellowship program.
  • Design fellowship programming with a focus on creating an inclusive culture of fellowship applications that supports students from diverse and underrepresented student populations and aligns with Lehman College’s commitment to educate, empower, and engage students to participate in a global society and meet workforce needs.
  • Support on-going collaborative relationships with campus partners and campus stakeholders including school deans, department chairs, program directors, faculty, staff, student clubs and programs, to identify students interested in fellowships; promote fellowship advising and support the creation of scholar communities; and manage communication and participation of campus partners for the Prestigious Awards Campus Committee.
  • Schedule and manage advising of diverse student populations across all majors and academic levels regarding fellowships, undergraduate research opportunities, internships, graduate school applications, and other related programs; run workshops and create presentations on best practices to support students in building competitive applications.
  • Coordinate the internal campus panel review and nomination process for domestic, national, and international prestigious fellowships and awards every fall and spring term.


Qualifications


Bachelor's degree and four years' related experience required.

  • Experience building and cultivating relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders
