Our Store Managers are at the front lines providing friendly customer service and giving Pet Parents the best selection of pet care items! You are responsible for coaching and developing your store team to deliver World Class Service to all customers. You are responsible for insuring the well-being for all our pets, operational standards and sales goals. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and positive attitude in the workplace, including conducting oneself in an appropriate manner when communicating verbally, in writing or by email.
  • Ensure proper care of all pets in store as outlined in the Animal Care Manual
  • Demonstrate a calm demeanor during periods of high volume, events and manage smooth transitions to keep store operating according to Pet Supermarket Standards
  • Ability to work a minimum of 45 hours per week
  • Ability to work a flexible work schedule which will include morning, evenings, weekends and/or holidays
  • Ability to work a rotating schedule that includes the following:
    • 2 evening shifts per week
    • 1 full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 3 weeks
    • Saturday and Sunday twice a month
  • 1 full weekend (Saturday and Sunday) every 3 weeks
  • Accountable for financial reporting and operational metrics standards as outlined in Financial Reporting Binder
  • Maintain inventory control, safety, loss prevention and expense control as outlined in Loss Prevention Standards
  • 2 evening shifts per week
  • Follow, enforce, and train all employees on all company policies and procedures
  • Consistently demonstrate excellent leadership and coaching skills
  • Fully accountable for execution of sales, service, and customer experience initiatives in store
  • Maintain the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements
  • Promote and market the business
  • Implementing all operational and merchandising direction that is communicated from the Corporate Office
  • Protect employees and customers by providing a safe and clean working environment
  • Saturday and Sunday twice a month
  • Cultivate long term relationships
Competencies
  • Experience with merchandising
  • Proven ability to delegate and follow through on goals and objectives
  • Proven leadership and training skills
  • Strong verbal communication
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to move throughout the store unassisted to provide customer service or perform tasks in any part of the store for up to 8 hour
Education and/or Experience
  • Must possess a minimum of 5+ years in retail establishment in Retail Store Management
  • Supervising a minimum of 8 employees
  • Training employees on company policies and procedures
  • Clear and persuasive verbal and written communication
  • Capacity for understanding inter-team conflicts and escalating when necessary
  • Working knowledge of POS system preferred
Requirements
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license
  • Access to a motor vehicle

  • Develop and execute individual development plans for store employees
  • Observe and coach employee to provide feedback around sales techniques and providing excellent customer service
  • Develop employees for growth and promotion by delegating appropriate responsibilities and inspecting completion
