Job Description
The non-exempt job classification is covered under The McNamara-O'Hara Service Contract Act (SCA) and the contract's collective bargaining agreement (CBA). Service employees are compensated per the prevailing wage rates and fringe benefits that are set by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) Wage and Hour Division's WDs 29 CFR Part 541 and 29 CFR 4.163(f), unless otherwise modified by a CBA between labor and management.


Job Summary


The Stock Clerk receives, stores, and issues equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools, and compiles stock records of items in stockroom, warehouse or storage yard. This worker sorts, or weighs incoming articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoice, examines stock to verify conformance to specifications, stores articles in bins, on floor or on shelves, according to identifying information, such as style, size or type of material, fills orders or issues supplies from stock, prepares periodic, special or perpetual inventory of stock, and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders. This worker also compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments, may mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles, may distribute stock among production workers, keeping records of material issued, may make adjustments or repairs to articles carried in stock, and may cut stock to site to fill order. Responsible for a wide variety of job responsibilities covering all facets of a warehouse and distribution center environment supporting activities that include receiving, storing, packaging, inventory and issuing.


Essential Functions
  • Understand the Acceptable Performance Levels (APL's) associated with assigned functional work areas/process and work expeditiously to meet contractual and team goals
  • Understand and execute various aspects of storage management functions as assigned:
  • Gather and report information about stock in stock in storage as required
  • Distribute stock among production workers and keeping records of materials issued
  • Perform other duties as assigned in association with established Management and Contract Compliance Plan, and workload requirements, etc.
  • Adhere to PTi quality, safety, and environmental standards
  • Requisition Processing - Pick and Pack Customer requisitions/orders as generated by warehouse management system. Verifying picks and packs are accurate as compared to requisition documentation (NSN, quantity, and Condition Code)
  • Understand and meet established productivity and quality control goals associated with assigned functional area/process
  • Understand and use the Government provided Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other Government Data Systems to perform the requirements of the Performance Work Statement (PWS)
  • May mark identifying cods, figures, or letters on articles
  • Receiving Functions (Receiving & Induction) - Verifying the correctness of incoming shipments by comparing items and quantities unloaded against bills of lading, invoices, manifests, storage receipts, or other records
  • May cut stock to fill order
  • Adhere to government, contract, and company policies and procedures.
  • May make adjustments/repairs to articles carried and stock
  • Ability to use MHE and other equipment required to move and stage materiel
  • Warehouse (Stow and Storage) - Stow Receipts inappropriate storage areas and locations. Ensure stock material is accurate and stored properly. Ensure material is properly packed and preserved and ready for issue. Comprehend and understand the facility storage plan as outlined by management and SOPs
  • Fills orders or issues supplies from stock; inventory and requisitions articles to fill incoming orders
  • Ability to use e-mail to receive and disseminate workload tasks and information.
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment
  • Checking for damaged goods; ensuring that goods are appropriately identified for routing within the facility, preparing and keeping records of goods received Ensuring correct System induction utilizing WMS IAW established SOPs. Entering and Updating correct information to include Global Weight and cube for each item at time of receiving
  • Follow established guidelines in performing day-to-day routine tasks as outlined in Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Technical Manuals, and Audit Readiness standards, etc.
  • Sort or weigh incoming articles to verify receipt or requestion of invoice; examines to verify conformance; stores according to identifying information
  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory, damage to stock, location changes, refusal of shipments
  • Ability to communicate in a professional manner with co-workers, site management and CGA regarding operations and policies at the Distribution Center
  • Respond promptly to the Compliance Team (Inventory, Customer Service, and Quality Control) regarding any system discrepancies that cannot be resolved


Working Conditions and Physical Demands


  • May be required to frequently handle equipment/supplies weighing up to 50 pounds individually and occasionally items weighing more than 50 pounds with assistance
  • Able to perform work on hard or uneven surfaces.
  • Able to exert moderate physical effort in the loading, unloading, and arranging of equipment/supplies as applicable to position.
  • Ability to work inside and/or outside in dirty and dusty environments, and occasionally be exposed to hot, cold, damp, and drafty weather conditions while handling equipment/supplies.


Qualifications


Experience:


  • Knowledge of the governing supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines
  • Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in planning, controlling, executing, multi-tasking and being responsible for the successful completion of work requirements


Skills


  • Knowledgeable in all Government and Commercial Traffic Management functions and processes, to include international shipping requirements, laws, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively read and write in English, comprehend written instructions, perform common mathematical tasks, and communicate effectively


Certificate, License, Registration, Etc.


  • US Citizen
  • Possess or be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance applicable to the position and/or military Common Access Card (CAC) within 30 days if required
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Completion of company mandated trainings applicable to position
  • Successful completion of WMS training, OSHA compliance, and DLA SOP training


Education


  • Minimum high school diploma or GED


Preferred Qualifications


  • Military or DLA Distribution experience
  • Training and experience processing HAZMAT
