Bellevue Young Life has a 60-year history of introducing kids to Jesus and hopes to hire a staff associate for the West Bellevue community that includes Bellevue High School, Chinook Middle School, and Bellevue Christian School.

Bellevue is a beautiful, thriving suburb of Seattle that is home to many corporate headquarters. It is surrounded by lakes and mountains and is also known for its nationally ranked public schools. Bellevue's diversity contributes to its incredible quality of life as about half of Bellevue's population of 120,000 are people of color or ethnic minorities.

We are looking for a full-time staff associate to continue to build dynamic ministry at the high schools and middle schools in West Bellevue. You will be on a team of six staff people and a large group of volunteer leaders and committee who are deeply invested in the kids of the community. We want to develop strong ministry that creates a sense of belonging for all students.

As part of this staff team, you will be supported and encouraged as you develop your leadership qualities. You will build and lead your own teams of students, leaders and adults while helping them grow in their faith.

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple summer camping trips and serve on camp assignment teams as directed by our regional staff.
• Plan and operate weekly events for students such as large group events and Campaigners Bible studies.
• Lead, recruit and develop teams of volunteer leaders.
• Actively participate in fundraising for the area and raise personal support while also raising awareness of Young Life in the area.
• Spend multiple hours per week building relationships with students.
• Execute Young Life’s mission to “introduce adolescents to Jesus Christ and help them grow in their faith” through the power of relationships.
• Lead all aspects of the high school ministry and middle school ministry.

Qualifications:

• Strong communication skills both in-person and via technology.
• Possess high capacity and high energy level.
• Strong Christian faith, knowledge of God's Word and ability to lead others to Christ.
• Young Life experience is helpful, but not required.
• Ability and desire to relate to students of all types of backgrounds.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Proven track record of self-starting and taking initiative.
• Comfortable relating to adults of all ages.
• Ability and desire to maintain a flexible, varying schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• A deep love for Jesus and a passion for outreach ministry.
