The Staff Accountant, an integral part of the Brunswick’s Business Acceleration team, will be responsible for maintaining proper accounting processes and controls for Business Acceleration entities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Operation team to ensure that the monthly/quarterly/annual accounting processes are completed in a timely manner per GAAP requirements. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for Accounts Receivable for Blue Water Finance, Account Payable for Brunswick Product Protection, Month- end close and reporting on financial status including income statement and variances analyses.
Responsibilities
  • Review and reconcile revenue and non-revenue related receivables and payables account for Business Acceleration entities.
  • Responsible for the reconciliation and preparation of journal entries of the daily cash on a weekly and monthly basis; responsible for uploading into Oracle. Provide timely resolution to any issues prompted by the information sent.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or redesign processes to support overall Brunswick Corporate Accounting initiatives.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations including reconciliation of bank/cash accounts, joint venture equity investment and recognized revenue.
  • Review and file monthly Sales & Use tax returns for Brunswick Product Protection Corporation (BPPC)
  • Prepares and maintains the Brunswick entity ledgers for Brunswick Product Protection Corporation (BPPC), and Bluewater Financial Services. Supports business unit management by providing financial statements and performing analyses as appropriate.
  • Responsible for posting of customer payments by recording ACH and checks and send email notifications to the dealers of Blue Water Finance.
  • Responsible for the posting revenues by verifying and entering transactions into QuickBooks.
  • Responsible for AP PO processing of vendor invoices into Oracle.
  • Responsible for running of month-end reports and prepare general ledger journal entries related to Brunswick Product Protection Corp and Bluewater Finance and BA management; responsible for uploading into Oracle.
Skills/Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree required. (Accounting/Finance)
  • Ability to work well across all levels of the organization
  • Self-confident with strong organization, project management, and communication skills required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks and exposure to enterprise accounting systems e.g. Oracle.
  • Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal controls.
  • 2-3 years of experience in Accounting, Finance and/or Business Operations experience is required.
