Responsibilities


  • Performs all monthly duties in an effective and timely manner in accordance with department goals and deadlines.
  • Balance Sheet Reconciliation
  • Maintains facility accounting records that includes but may not be limited to: monthly billing and general ledger reports, manual check requests, journal entry source documents, asset files, balance sheet account reconciliation schedules.
  • Maintains fixed asset additions and deletions in accounting software.
  • Proposes and posts all journal entries for initial financial statements.
  • Assists in special projects involving improvement of the department.
  • Notify Supervisor of conditions or issues that warrant management intervention.
  • Exhibit ability to organize work space to ensure maximum work flow.
  • Oversee facility accounting functions for assigned facilities:
  • Troubleshoot questions or incomplete manual check request for accuracy of general ledger account coding.
  • Monthly review for accuracy and variances all statement of operations accounts by comparing to budget and reviewing detailed entries posted to accounts.
  • Exhibit ability to prioritize workload.
  • Acts in a professional and strictly confidential manner at all times.
  • Complete provider bed tax returns and remits payment to respective state authority for faxes due for applicable facilities.
  • Performs general ledger account analysis as needed.
  • Monthly review for accuracy all balance sheet accounts by reconciling the balance to the source documents i.e., A/R aging, A/P aging, schedules, accruals, etc.
  • Financial Statement Review
  • Attend meetings and training sessions as assigned.


Qualifications


  • Possess excellent organization, technical and written/oral communication skills.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in accounting.
  • Must possess ability to work with senior management to meet company and department goals.
  • Must exhibit ability to grasp new concepts and systems.
  • Must be flexible, self-motivated, handle multiple tasks/projects, able to work in a fast paced changing environment.
  • Possess analytical, problem solving skills related to financial statements, general ledger analysis, journal entries and accounts payable.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations as needed.
  • Working knowledge of computerized accounting and communication software.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
