The Opportunity

The Staff Accountant assists in the day-to-day accounting needs for all operations of the organization. You will play a crucial role in revenue recognition and customer invoicing processes, gaining valuable experience in revenue accounting principles, financial analysis, and compliance. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will have the chance to sharpen your communication and problem-solving skills while working on diverse projects. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to process improvement initiatives, leveraging technology and automation to streamline financial operations. In This Role You Will

• Identify and prepare adjusting journal entries;
• Perform monthly revenue related tasks and analysis including monthly revenue close process and reconciliations related to deferred revenue accounts;
• Assists in compiling reports to NBA;
• Prepare account reconciliations, verify accuracy of data, and report, identify, and correct errors;
• Provides information to various departments as requested;
• Support timely monthly and year-end financial close, including assigned journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and accruals;
• Other duties as assigned.
• Assist in disseminating financial reports;
• Calculate and prepare accruals;
• Review assigned departmental P&Ls;
• Assist with all audits and year-end tax requirements;
• Assist accounts receivable invoicing and collections;

The Experience You Will Bring

• Intermediate computer knowledge, including MS Excel, Word and Outlook;
• Ability to interact and communicate effectively and collaboratively with non-financial colleagues;
• Ability to analyze situations and data, determining the appropriate approach processing and/or incorporating into our financials;
• Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline driven environment;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in accounting;
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills;
• High sense of integrity and confidentiality.

Nice To Have

• 3+ years of accounting and general ledger experience or equivalent professional work experience;
• Advanced MS excel expertise; exposure to MS Business Intelligence tools;
• Knowledge of Microsoft Great Plains accounting system.
