Staff Accountant Jobs

Compensation: $23-28 an hour

Our growing and well-respected Certified Public Accounting Firm is currently seeking a Staff Accountant for our office located in Upland, California. Responsibilities:

• Bring unusual or significant accounting and tax-related questions to a supervisor
• Prepare work papers following the Firm’s policies and procedures and recommended best practices
• Individual, Corporate, S-Corp, LLC/LLP (Partnership), Non-Profit, Gift, Estate and Trust Tax Planning and Preparation
• Bookkeeping and write-up services
• Compilation, Review and Audit engagements for various types of clients and industries
• Payroll and Sales Tax Return Preparation
• Become familiar and comply with the Firm’s policies, procedures, manuals, forms, and relevant software
• Demonstrate awareness of budgets on engagements and the ability to work with supervisors or managers in keeping within those budgets
• Tax Authority correspondence and audit defense research and communication
• Educational opportunities, firm-provided training courses, industry resources and participation with professional organizations

Skills/Qualifications:

• Excellent written and verbal communication in English is a must
• Ability to effectively manage multiple work assignments and projects
• Professional behavior and appearance
• Acceptance and execution of job responsibilities within a team environment
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics from an accredited university is required
• Enrolled Agent (EA) license a plus
• Strong analytical skills, including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, and Word)
• Actively pursuing CPA certification by sitting for all schedule exams preferred
• Must be able to work independently following a brief period of specific technical training
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and Lacerte Tax Preparation software preferred
• Ability to work overtime as required, January 15 - April 15 and September 1 - Oct 15
• Previous experience is a plus; 1-3 years public accounting experience preferred
• Proactive, resourceful, and client-oriented
• Quick learner with strong attention to detail and a focus on accountancy
• Honest and ethical with strong work ethics

Compensation:

• Negotiable depending on experience
