Quantum Computing Inc. (QCI) is a full-stack quantum software and hardware company on a
mission to accelerate the value of quantum computing for real-world business solutions. The
company recently acquired QPhoton, a quantum photonics innovation company, and has post-
merger developed a series of quantum photonic systems (QPS). The combination of QCI’s flagship
ready-to-run software product, Qatalyst, with the company’s commercialized QPS, positions QCI to
deliver a broadly accessible and affordable full-stack quantum solutions that can be used by non-
quantum experts, anywhere, for real-world industry applications.
Position Description
We are seeking a motivated Staff Accountant to tackle the Company’s day-to-day accounting
responsibilities. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Finance Lead and Controller,
executing daily, monthly and year-end accounting activities, such as recording transactions,
preparing journal entries, tracking budgets, and preparing reports. The ideal candidate for this role
will have a strong basis of accounting and be excited to grow their finance career with a rapidly
evolving technology company.
Duties And Responsibilities
  • Enter accounting transactions for procure-to-pay and order-to-cash processes
  • Perform other accounting and financial ad-hoc reporting as directed
  • Prepare monthly fluctuation analyses, roll forward schedules and reconciliations, and financial statement footnotes
  • Participate in financial system enhancements and implementations
  • Responsible for documenting key accounting processes and performing related accounting operation controls; identify ways to build efficiencies into current processes
  • Conduct account analysis and research in support of management budget and actuals reporting
  • Prepare accrual and other journal entries with supporting documentation in accordance with best practices
  • Provide cross-training and mentoring with peers; develop fluid working relationships across the Management team and all levels of the organization
  • Use accounting knowledge to resolve reconciling items and work to minimize such items on a go-forward basis
  • Conduct all accounting and reporting activities in accordance with U.S. GAAP and Sarbanes- Oxley (SOX) standards
  • Support consolidated and/or statutory audits by preparing deliverables and responding to audit inquiries and issues
Required Skills And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Accounting
  • Familiarity with U.S Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), SEC and other accounting and reporting standard
  • Optimism about the potential of societal change through cutting edge technological advances
  • Keen aptitude in dealing with financial and numeric data as well as analyzing data
  • 2-5 years of work experience in the accounting field
  • Interest in the tech sector and innovative computing technology
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to prioritize workloads; must be a collaborate teammate who is supportive of co-workers and contributes to problem solving
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; VBA/macro experience strongly preferred
  • Motivated to meet deadlines and deliverables with timeliness, accuracy, and efficiency
  • Exceptional drive, precision, and attention to detail
