Job Description


The Field Service Representative (FSR) provides technical support and customer solutions for the HMPT Transmission. This is a full time position located at Camp Shelby (Hattiesburg), MS; with extensive travel to support NCARNG and TNARNG.


Essential Functions


  • Provide input to Technical Publications (Repair and Parts manuals) and failure analysis reports.
  • Must cultivate and maintain inter-organizational relationships and outside customer contacts.
  • This is a full time position located at Camp Shelby in Hattiesburg, MS. The successful candidate will reside within a daily commutable distance of the work site. The position requires extensive travel from the site to TNARNG at various sites in Tennesee, and NCARNG at various sites in North Carolina, up to 200 days per year, and RENK America, Muskegon, MI. Travel will be via company vehicle or air depending on the situation. Extended travel for periods of up to 30 days or longer may be required on occasion. The selected candidate will provide technical support and solutions to customers for the HMPT transmission. The candidate must apply an understanding and wide application of technical principle, theories, and concepts of product and components in addition to general knowledge of related disciplines.
  • Hands-on troubleshooting and repair in adverse environments is required.
  • Will work closely with both customer and Government personnel on site.
  • It is essential to be able to present and communicate with customer personnel at all rank and technical levels.
  • Must be able to provide theoritical and hands-on maintenance training to up to 12 cusomer personnel at a time following established training outlines.
  • Will provide assistance to troubleshoot hardware deficiencies found during product testing and support field testing as required.
  • Must provide individual product incident and retrofit reports and weekly reports in the established format and in a timely manner.
  • Required to communicate regularly with management and engineering team in Muskegon and draw upon the knowledge and resources at RENK America.


Qualifications


  • Must maintain a professional appearance at all times, including personal, work space, and company provided equipment.
  • 8 years minimum hands-on assembly / troubleshooting / mechanical / repair / testing experience in technical support of power train components.
  • Must be able to effectively present technical training material and provide hands-on training to an audience of up to 12 people.
  • Vehicle access capability required. Must be able to meet the anthropometric requirements for combat vehicle ingress and egress.
  • Must support and comply with all customer and RENK America ethics standards at all times.
  • Must be able to diplomatically communicate with customer and RENK America personnel and maintain composure, especially in stressful situations.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree and minimum 4 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree and a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience. Will consider candidates with a minimum of 8 years hands-on experience in lieu of formal education.
  • Must be able to pass a security background check and obtain a Controlled Access Card (CAC).
  • Working knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook is required.
  • Travel is required (domestic). Must be willing to travel by air.
  • Must have excellent written and verbal English language communication skills.


Preferred Additional Skills


  • Hands –on experience maintaining the HMPT transmission preferred.
  • Tracked vehicle knowledge and maintenance experience preferred.
