Position Overview


As an Sr. Operations Manager, you will be reporting to project management and responsible for job site management and oversee the administrative and technical aspects of construction projects.


District Overview


Kiewit Southwest District specializes in heavy civil, transportation and water projects, we typically self-perform a large portion of the work. We do self-performance work such as mass grading, drainage, PCCP paving, utilities and more. We are looking for people committed to the construction industry with safety, quality, costs and schedule in mind.

Responsibilities


  • Responsible for all phases of planning and execution on smaller less complex projects or a segment of a large project
  • Administering safety programs and maintaining good owner relations.
  • Project administration systems management and management of assigned job site personnel.
  • Supervises work of project administration, project superintendents, and engineers to establish operational priorities and maintain satisfactory relationships with owners, subcontractors, and/or unions
  • Assuring quality control, contract compliance and administration


Qualifications


  • Strong organization/time management skills
  • Work independently as well as part of a team
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to understand project scheduling and cost control, and to read and understand project owner specifications and engineering drawings
  • 5+ years' experience in all aspects of managing infrastructure construction projects with a proven track record of successful outcomes.
  • Good attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies
  • Ability to travel and relocate as needed
  • Strong work ethic - willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Undergraduate degree in construction engineering, construction management or a related degree or comparable work experience.


Other Requirements:


  • Work during normal operating hours to organize and complete work within given deadlines. Work overtime and weekends as required.
  • May work at various different locations and conditions may vary.

  • Communicate and interact effectively and professionally with supervisors, employees, and others individually or in a team environment.
  • Work productively and meet deadlines timely
